Nathan Zanagar - La Grande Salle - Stereo Stickman

Nathan Zanagar La Grande Salle

-

Dreamy and catchy alternative pop, rising emotions in both soundscape and song, quickly assert a level of clear artistic direction and depth. Nathan Zanagar unites urgency and intimacy, throughout the multi-language stories, songs and sentiments, of La Grande Salle.

As an opening song, and for many, a first introduction to the sound of Nathan Zanagar, Occupe Toi seems like the perfect song. A melancholic indie musing, with deeply seductive vocals, and a growing sense of anticipation and weight that’s hypnotic.

The lyrics are in French, but you can translate, or simply feel your way through. The hook is snappy, catchy and both uncertain and conclusive – a quality that highlights the nuance and ability of Zanager’s writing style.

Five songs make up the EP La Grande Salle, each as evocative and unique as the last, but always in some new way. Aux Hommes is moody and confronting, stylish and slick, later poignant and bold; distorted, heavy, heartfelt. Then the piano-led EDA is delicate, before In My Head is retro electronic and playful.
