Lana Crow - Your Mini Me - Stereo Stickman

Lana Crow Your Mini Me

-

An ambient soft rock realm – distinct but gentle guitar riffs and clear sense of rising anticipation. Lana Crow carves out a nostalgic indie arena of sound and expression, with the depth and intention of Your Mini Me.

Inspired by the globally renowned mess that was Brexit, Your Mini Me introduces the unmistakable indie rock tone and accent of Lana Crow by way of scornful lyrics and a simple earworm of a melody. The verses rise and fall, almost call and response but more consistently listed or story-like, as we’re guided through these reflections on legacy and societal impact.

Then we rise up for the hook, the guitars intensify, the four-chord groove and bassline elevate the pace and presence of the drums, and the chorus resounds and repeats for a naturally addictive finish.

What’s great about the set-up of Your Mini Me is that despite the character and identity of the voice and lyrics, the track also makes sure to celebrate the value of musicianship and space within the indie anthem. The hook is followed by another striking guitar line and lick, hints of reverb and production to further underline these musical shifts, and the whole thing aptly reinforces the emotion and disdain at the heart of the writing.

It’s a somewhat mysterious take, but the sentiments ring loud in both the performance and lyrics, and Lana Crow’s style as a long-time artist is undoubtedly set in stone.
