Heavy tones and dreamy refrains, melodies and grooves both psychedelic and rhythmically grounded – an industrial surf-rock aura that rings loudly from the outset. Deep Eddy Records offer something refreshingly stylish, gritty, engaging, and impressive, with their latest instrumental medley of tracks for 2026.
Introducing this New Music Sampler is an outright highlight – soaring riffs, slick changes in tone and intensity, ethereal reverb-kissed pauses and upfront distorted re-starts. The KBK’s 75878986-26 (Initialize Transmission) is cinematic brilliance intertwined with a kind of nostalgic indie-rock swagger, gifting both the escapism of live instrumental rock music, and the provocative intentions of something conceptually unique.
This might sound like heavy praise, but it’s rightfully applied – the track is superb – a real joy to turn up loud and lose yourself within, and a fine introduction to this ten-track project.

Elsewhere we get surfer-style bends and tumbling drum-lines, quick fingers and higher tones, spacious movements and heavy fuzz all juxtaposing one-another throughout colourful arrangements. The likes of The Nematoads and Squid Vicious make welcomed appearances, with The KBK, RAHMUS and The Neptones filling up the eclecticism of the set in a way that’s festival-like in its versatility and playfulness.
Abdel Jafar, Middle Eastern Spy is a cool and intoxicating highlight, with a rising anticipation that’s raw and indulgent. Dare Not Speak its Name is equally mysterious, even dark, but exciting and energising as things roll towards an immense crescendo.
Then we get sweeping Americana bar-fight backdrops or the imaginative scenes of riding gigantic waves amidst a setting sun, for the likes of Majestic (La Mesa Grande). Overlord is later a sensational closing track from Squid Vicious.
Vintage tones, live rock vibrancy and essential band unity – creativity and classic fragments of tune, rhythm, boldness and intention, all bring these bands together in a bold and refreshing way. Deep Eddy Records hold closely to authenticity and vibe, celebrating the best in instrumental traditions and guitar music, with a genre-fusing surf revival that’s invigorating.
