Lush and hypnotic old-school trip hop vibes bring mellow ethereal mixing alongside organic guitar riffs and softly spoken melodies. Germany’s ATOMIC FRUIT capture a sense of alternative brilliance, in my view, with the humility and dark melodic stylings of Medicine.
Contrast is masterfully employed here, the higher guitar notes and the light rhythm countering the vocal depth and character, the lyrical charm, at the forefront. It’s intriguing, mysterious, intimate and ambient, and the music completely consumes you if you let it.
Turn up the volume and fall into the groove, the rising emotion and volume – all of it subtle, cleverly nuanced, and impressively real. ATOMIC FRUIT have that something special about their sound, an indie honesty that transcends lyric and genre, offering something authentic and lightly euphoric.
I love this track, and I’m excited to hear where creativity takes the band in 2026.
