Armed with a brand new album and a growing repertoire that speaks volumes on behalf of years of commitment and passion – Rappa Renze kindly stopped by to dig into the details of his journey.
We talk about producing music since just 14 years of age, finding a style of his own, work ethic, talent, ambition, and plenty more. Here’s how it went.
* * *
Rappa Renze – great to connect with you. How has 2025 been treating you so far?
2025 has been steady and crucial so far , but I mean ya know blessings and curses all in one , but hey it’s gotta be duality right.
You started producing beats at just 14 – what was your first original track called, and how much has your understanding and skill set changed since then?
That’ll actually be exposed in my documentary that’s supposed to be coming out in a year or two. I believe that I’ve evolved and I’ve advanced so much because back in the beginning of my career, I would get praised for being so smart and educated in music production, but it’s apart of my family’s legacy.
Nothing better than receiving praise from others than to praise myself. My skill set is a different conversation surprisingly perhaps even more involved in deeper knowledge.
In what ways did growing up in Northside Calumet impact your musical style and mindset?
Well Atlanta is something else you know it’s a great city but dive a little deeper on the Northside of it and you get Calumet. Competition is steep and I hold grounds there in a very respectful way, I’ve always had this presence to do things differently, to change things and to be the best.
My Documentary will detail the sound of my generation and my mindset to achieve things nobody else has achieved.
Sold Me set the mood for an introspective approach, the heavy bass and trap beat countered by thoughtful and intimate lyrics and vocals. Is this typical of your style, or does the song venture into new creative territories?
That’s embedded into me, emo-rap and hip-hop are one to me. Rock and alternative are my core being , but surprisingly alot of my fans already know that !
You already released the album Hostile World this year – how long does a new album take from start to finish, and how do you stay motivated?
Could take a few years, could take a few months but the thing is this, motivation is a feeling and my will to achieve and be the best and build this empire doesn’t need motivation cause I have will motivation is natural to me ya know?
Why this album title The IVth – what’s the theme connecting the tracks of the new project, and what do you hope people take away from it?
Yeah ‘The IVth’ may be one of my most interesting albums to come out this year. It’s supposed to be released in November on the 7th which parallels with the same day as my mother’s birthday, so that’s a gift for me and her in a way as well , hopefully people can decipher that in a meaningful way.
Which track from ‘The IVth’ is the one you’d recommend first to new listeners, and why?
Unfortunately My Label B.R.E And TFB Studios have only come to one agreement on one song I can mention but it’s called ‘Gatekeepers’ and it will bring them up briefly on who I am but what I’m trying to do through the choices I make. I’ve been doing this for close to 13 years and all the hard work is starting to show and will show.
Will you be touring to celebrate the release, and if so, what’s a stage show going to be like, and where can people catch you playing?
Underground touring of the album called ‘Legendary’ will be late next year 2026. For That Album I will show and reveal more of who I am and my appearances will detail that, but you know something? I have a lot of sponsors for that album and I believe that’s a turning point in my career.
You also own the production company WickedCinema – how do you balance your time effectively between all creative pursuits?
I mean WickedCinema is the production company and visual aspect of Baphomet Records Ent. It’s worth over 300,000$ and my grandfather was a very rich man and successful man. Some of my family that still resides in Atlanta Georgia owns a lot of land and so do I.
I was trusted with a very crucial legacy and one of my cousins toured with Andre 3000 his name is deantoni parks and he’s amazing when it comes to the music production side and he’s a beast. However this music front face is me and it will be me because I’m the new generation. Creative aspects is very distinct and requires more focus than the artist like myself. I have an assistant by the name of Jessica to also keep me in check.
Are you making visuals for any of the album tracks, and if so, how does that video process compare to writing songs for you?
Definitely a lot of people I have put in position to do that at WickedCinema. I really don’t have the time to do the things I used to anymore because I travel so much and I’m so busy behind the scenes with filming as well because I’m getting into acting and being a part of movies that causes impact. Writing songs is crucial as well, I mean I have writers and great friends and fans to always glance into their lives and find my goal.
Is there anything else we should know?
Yeah I think this song that’s releasing August 15th is something to listen to. It reveals that the birth of my son came as a surprise and now I have 7 children. I reveal a conflict and struggle within myself and wondering how can I escape this torture? But the torture is everything is changing, everybody is changing but how can I keep up?
So I face it face to face and reveal that even negative feelings are weak and your positivity is what generates the results. Why is it so hard to stay positive instead of staying negative? I’m pretty sure everybody has a easy way of diving back into their negative ways.
