Fearlessly original by design and performance, Say it like you mean it features a clear and concise hook at the heart of its progression. We’re introduced early on, and this moment reappears just enough so throughout the five-minute track to build further on that impact.
It’s a mildly warped, uninhibited expression of freedom creatively, but it’s also strangely absorbing and enchanting to let play, and the entire track and much of Stephan Folkes’ original sound is built around this careful balancing of elements.
Individuality is key, and this release speaks volumes on behalf of it. Stephan Folkes is unmistakable as a modern artist, and I’ll be keen to hear where else the music takes him in the coming months.
