messier - Baskervilles - Stereo Stickman

messier Baskervilles

-

Classic indie rock, a contemporary instrumental lightness but with short lines and two-vocals combined for that snappy, anthemic rise. messier bring unrivalled energy and pace to the scene, with the dreamy hook and up-tempo guitar-work and drums of Baskervilles.

Naturally a song that grows more enjoyable as it rolls along, Baskervilles proves lyrically fascinating on top of musically impressive and awakening in the end. The set-up has the feel of something from the explosive indie rock era of decades past, but the changes in tempo, the melodic rise and pairing, the emotional peaks, the topic, all rings loud with some kind of intriguing originality. The song gets you listening closely, tuning in to satisfy that need to understand.

Meanwhile, contrast works its magic, between the indie-rock band fullness and the somewhat softer but still passionate drive of these voices. An interesting and likable style, from a band whom hopefully have plenty more music on the way.
