Cinematic production brings together neo-classical strings and the higher-intensity of symphonic metal, as we enter a structurally impassioned and powerful original song, from an elusive Celia Frost.
Featuring fascinatingly poetic and engaging lyrics, Marbled utilises a clear AI vocal lead at the forefront, but everything else feeds into an evocative and rather soulful arrangement and song. It’s perhaps the most impressive electronically sourced original to emerge so far amidst the indie realm, with a hugely passionate chorus, and an almost hard-rock drop as we reach the intoxicating crescendo of the song’s climb.
Easily recognisable and quite captivating to listen through in full, Marbled is all at once dramatic and accessible – a fairly epic cinematic story and ode, with varied vocals and effects all contrasted by the sheer realism and changing pace of the interconnected musicianship.
That arrangement and set-up is key, and the only remaining desire is to witness a purely human performance or live show of Marbled – in a stage setting – in my view, that kind of organic take would almost certainly prove immensely compelling and deeply moving.
Interesting writing, a huge and powerful yet skilful sound and set-up – Marbled is something of its own right now, and the essence of the style and story reaches out for its subtle genre fusion and clear focus on the emotion and intentions of the work.
