The serenity and freedom of the solo run, a mellow headspace encapsulated by a simple pop soundscape and intimate vocals – Amit Dsouza adopts a poetic look at the self and the process of discovery, with Joggers Park.

Introducing a vocalist with a humble but distinct tone, delicate and in keeping with the easy energy of this keys-led and click-supported beat, Joggers Park goes on to weave in a handful of new vocals during the mid-section, as further detail regarding the reflection and longing of the lyrics is revealed to us.

Following this, a whole new degree of passion and volume hits that voice, a love song realised amidst the melodic simplicity and warmth of the music and lyrical journey, and Amit Dsouza shines light on the ballad-esque writing and gratitude of his style.

Also recently released by Amit Dsouza is the completely different dance-led groove and upbeat energy of Bin tere jaaneja. Here the singer collaborates with Harmesh Vanmali, Kavita D’Souza, and Sonal Samant, for a tribal and anthemic outcry that’s brilliantly addictive. The groove is organic and strong, the vocals intertwined beautifully, and the set-up proves unexpectedly versatile as we move from section to section. D’Souza effectively creates a lane of his own with this genre-blending explosion of optimism and positivity. It’s a floor-filler on the one hand, a celebration of unity on the other.

In connection with D’Souza, Saud Ali Shaikh launched the single Teri Hi Soorat in 2024, and this one featured whispered vocals and piano across a long-form melodic journey with a heart-breaking tone initially. Soon enough, the song evolves into a warmer realm, the vocal intensifies and brightens, and the music creates a space of genuine calm and contemplation as it fills the room.

Finally, a solo piece from Harmesh Vanmali – Tu Ya Ithe is again stripped-back to the raw emotions of the writing, to highlight a smooth and awakening vocal style, a piano and choir-led ambiance, with subtle guitar rising into explosive rock distortion and the live crash of drums.

As ever, the emotion is captured beautifully by both the instrumental progression and the voice itself. Contrast is masterfully utilised, with the rise and fall from one moment to the next helping build a uniquely intoxicating listen, with a sublime instrumental prowess at its core. The central instrumental breakaway for this track is bold and brilliant, and helps light up the vocal journey and those quieter moments with all the more power and presence.
