Denver’s Nightshade Kiss keep things musically rooted with an elusive presence online and only the best of the best rock tracks making up their repertoire.
Standing particularly tall is their infectious new single Touch Me, stylishly blending the sheer energy and weight of distorted rock riffs and the live crash of drums, with a notably expressive, almost RnB-style vocal lead of intimate, poetic lyrics, for a subtle genre fusion that’s enjoyably refreshing.
“The foreboding future lives no more
As a dying rose falls to the floor
A veil of tears lifted from sight
I only need to see you tonight.”
Featuring soaring electric guitars and a decidedly pop-esque hook that lingers after listening, Touch Me successfully walks the line between mainstream accessible and indie alternative.
Weave in a spoken-word middle-8, whispered amidst the distortion and pace underneath, and we’re effectively introduced to a rock band paving their own way. Hopefully there’s plenty more music to come.
