Retro keys and heartfelt, sermon-like story telling make up much of Ronald Major’s new album The Fight. Nowhere is this more true than on the track Faith Your Fears.
Blending the uniquely expressive tone and character of Major’s voice, presented here in a stream of consciousness fashion, as purely a spoken word monologue designed to inspire, with a simple, dreamlike backdrop and plenty of space, Faith Your Fears operates as a calming and simultaneously motivational, subtly quirky release. It introduces with style the thoughtful and rightfully faithful nature of Major’s work.
Elsewhere the entire album holds close to these qualities, seeing the artist passionately deliver references about life, about living being a fight for so many of us, relating on a deeply human, consistently real level. Major’s voice and his musical direction at every step help underline a clear sense of identity and purpose, and this works well to elevate his sound and style.
