Following the release of her single Still a Rainbow, we caught an interview with artist & songwriter Eye’z to find out more about the song and her plans for the future. Here’s how it went.

Hey – great to chat with you, thanks for the interview! For those who don’t know, how would you describe yourself as an artist?
I would describe myself as an honest artist. I do pop music, that’s my passion and I hope listeners can feel it.
What does Still a Rainbow mean to you?
It means I’m finally here!
How did you come up with the hook?
It came kind of easy, I knew what I wanted to do with the hook, I wanted to play around “I bet you want it uh huh”, but I take it back to the meaning of the song with “I’m coming out, I’m ready and I’m Here”
What do you hope people take away from the song?
That no matter how strong the storm is you will come out still a rainbow, you can’t have a rainbow without a little rain.
Is that a beatboxer on the track, and if so – how did that collaboration come to be?
Yes, His name is J-BOX I started working with him a couple of years ago and after I finished my first project with him I asked him more about his beatboxing and asked him to beatbox for me because I knew I wanted to work with him as a beatboxer and collab as an artist not just studio stuff. I often work with beatboxers and was glad when I found out that he was a beatboxer. There’s Pictures of him on my website and Instagram.
What made you decide to release the acapella and instrumental versions in addition to the final mix of the song?
That’s what Recording artists are supposed to do.
Is there a longer project on the way, and if so – what can audiences expect from that?
No there isn’t. Please enjoy what I have right now. I do not plan on releasing an album any time soon. But I will be collaborating with other artists and releasing another single in a year or so. I worked very hard on what I have right now and have been touring and even have some surprises coming up at the end of this year with the single so please join my mailing lists so you can be the first to know!
Will you be performing over the summer months, and what makes a truly memorable live show for you?
Yes, I will be performing at the California State fair on July 16th at 3 p.m, please come out and enjoy your self. I love doing shows where there’s rides, animals and candy! That’s hard to say what makes ANY show memorable, I guess it would be the crowd. The last show I did a little girl gave me a high five that was super cool!
What are your hopes and plans over the coming years, creatively – what’s the bigger picture?
My plans over the next coming years would be to continue releasing music and to tour outside of the country. I had opportunities years ago but didn’t quite understand the passport thing lol.
