Following in Warner Music’s footsteps, the globally renowned Distrokid realise the impact and potential of TikTok in reshaping the music and entertainment industries, and sign a huge deal with the social platform that will hopefully generate significant revenue for hard-working indie artists.

The dwindling of the corporate label is far from news to the vast majority of independent artists, and now the connection between distribution and marketing has removed the middle-man entirely.
The agreement between TikTok and DistroKid promises that music from artists distributed by DistroKid will also be directly available on TikTok Music, the platform’s new premium-only music streaming service – currently available in Australia, Singapore, Mexico, Brazil and Indonesia. The decision presents a limited but significant shift.
