Creatively uninhibited, rooted amidst strong grooves and inspiring sentiments – Italian producer Kutchuli brings through the best in independent Hip Hop and RnB, with the striking originality and heart of Tune Park.
Featuring seventeen different artists from across the globe, Kutchuli’s Tune Park encapsulates the versatility of cultural and creative freedom, incorporating traits from a plethora of genres, whilst maintaining its integrity as a clearly concise and engaging Hip Hop collection.
Stylistic and thematic threads connect the songs, with positivity being an overall calling card, as 11 tracks delve into topics like overcoming struggles and building self-esteem.
We begin with a long-form bass-line and chaotic, colourful synth melodies, as rapper Sandman brings the energy and pace for Boostafunk. The ambience of the Kutchuli design contrasts the sharp and snappy rhythm, the bassline too adds something unexpected and new; intensity and calm walking hand in hand, as these sharp and breathless bars rain down with charm and purpose.
Upfront bass and retro synths continue to be a prominent feature, but the set-up and structure of Erase My Name is quick to redirect things. A heavier groove, a gritty and passionate set of bars from the iconic and captivating Julisa, alongside soulful singer Winael. Kutchuli celebrates versatility whilst showcasing the precise and involved nature of his production regardless of story or sentiment.
While there isn’t a bad track on the project, some highlights from Tune Park include the beautifully nostalgic and jazz-kissed ambient calm of Dreameaning – a sublime hook breaking up raspy bars as Keybeaux and Kentrelle J take the mic. Then contrast works its magic again, as the addictive optimism and inspiring depth of Flashlight provides an unforgettable soundscape and performance.
Collaboration is key, alongside soulful intentions and unapologetically creative freedom. Tune Park is a fine collection of outright originals from Kutchuli and friends.
