It’s always commendable when artists put in the consistent effort & attentiveness to complete a full length project like this. There’s so much more to relate to & to get lost within on an album, as opposed to a shorter EP or single.

Last Of The Tall Ships is a collection of songs that offer a thoughtful & experienced level of insight regarding life & the passing of time.
On Ithenfal’s Wing have their sound & have no issues owning it entirely. Fans of progressive rock or rock with a genuine performance aspect will likely find themselves hypnotised by these songs.
This sort of creative work deserves to be & is indeed the most effective when it is listened to in full. You don’t need multiple sources to make up an escapism or meditation playlist when you have something that has been so considerately & skillfully crafted.
Given Brad Geiger’s extensive experience & musical influences, this album as a complete collection is quite precisely the eclectic & colourful project you’d hope for, and yet it’s really also nothing like you’d expect.
Darick DDS Spears emerges like a long lost legend, never questioning his own abilities, which, in term, gives you confidence in them as you listen. He carries these tracks in a mighty way, and the album in full makes for a refreshingly considerate, colourful project.
There’s more than just freedom on this project, the very idea of punk holds the key to that anyway, but with these songs you get an element of provocation, and the Thelonious Monk aspect adds so much that manages to escape expectation.

There’s so much more to the band than the music, admittedly a confusing thing to say – I guess there’s something to connect with that runs deeper than strings & rhythm. Everyone & their neighbor should hear this album.
You don’t come across complete albums that are quite so pretty & haunting & unexpected as this, the last couple of times were when Half Moon Run first emerged; MGMT before this.
An easy must for fans of cleverly crafted, interesting, endlessly enjoyable songwriting. Ann Taylor’s voice has a soothing quality to it that works beautifully as the driving force behind the writing.
