There’s a certain purity to his sound, which fuses beautifully & authentically with the deeply considerate, honest & insightful manner in which he writes.
Germany-based artist and songwriter Nomina has crafted a stunning new single and video for her latest release, offering up a blissfully mellow and intricately designed ambiance, rightfully world-music inspired but following a soulful RnB vocal along and a notably tribal rhythm that builds and increasingly energizes throughout.
Troy Petty has evidently mastered being musically true to his own artistic and expressive needs, offering up an album of original songs that pour through with absolute creative freedom yet a clear passion for and connection to the very process of writing and performing.
There’s no denying that La Roboká have a sound that’s purely theirs. The opening track alone pours through with such a fine display of contrast – operatic vocals meet with retro synths and high-energy drum lines, all of which creates an almost sci-fi-like, cinematic explosion before you.
What Liebeskid does so well is build songs that are complete artistic expressions of certain ideas and feelings. The piano, the soundscape, the vocal tone and words, the melody – even the structure, the space, the stops and the starts – everything works as one to represent the underlying sentiments. Both of these songs are suggestive of an artist in a league of her own entirely.
Paul Wetz’ new release this week is a track that offers an immediately uplifting hit of escapism not unlike the work of The xx – though with a notably fuller, deep-house driven backdrop; and a refreshing concept and melody-line.

My approach to creativity? I often go for a walk through Heidelberg, open my eyes, open my ears and just let my thoughts flow. At some point creativity kicks in. That gives me an idea. But then I need to play around with it – I prefer to do that on my own.
The entire video is enthralling from start to finish – a joy to lose yourself within, and well-crafted to the point that you really feel no need to distinguish this from (or compare it to) the original or other versions.
His approach to production is that of a deeply creative, expressive nature, but at the same time, the attention to detail & the sheer finish & effect of the music underlines a superbly professional outlook.
