Peter Sirah drives with a thick bass-line and a clear-cut, clean and up front rap vocal – two simple yet striking elements that draw you right into the centre of this new single.
Her voice alone has so much character that you can tell this will last if the songs and the performances keep coming. On top of that though, the songs on this album offer something pure, honest, and deeply considerate – a set of qualities that are so valuable, and well worth holding onto once you find them.
Aratrea have found a style of their own in the modern music world. Characterful vocals and a unique, unpredictable melody feel mildly reminiscent of the likes of New Radicals, fusing in an unorthodox fashion with cascading electronic synths and contrasting dashes of rock and roll grit.
From a distance, there’s a slightly Moby-esque warmth to the hook melody & the soundscape. Then you get a dash of classic, nostalgic, hip hop, a simple yet powerful poetic concept, and an electronically charged ambiance that effectively helps fuses these varied genres together.

It rocks along, chock-full of character and has swagger to spare. Beholden to a wealth of sounds and songs that you think you can half-remember, it somehow carves a furrow all its own. Excellent fun!
We are talking impassioned vocals. We are talking some pretty meaty riffing on guitar. All wrapped up in some smart production, great songwriting and a healthy little shot of gently snarling punky attitude. But it’s got mood and heart, and tunes and thoughtful lyrics, too.
The creative’s own demons are faced within this writing, and the result is something that prompts the listener to do the same – to overcome feelings of inadequacy, to believe in their own strength and skill, and to Rise Up.
There’s an artistic whole at work, every layer building further on the ideas and the poetry within, and for all of these reasons the song is a pleasure to lose yourself in for a while.
