The Rising Souls are a band I’m incredibly grateful to have discovered – once again, the wonder that is 2Seas Sessions have introduced audiences to something special
Soul
Sweet Surrender offers a lot in the way of that big band, jazz-funk, almost Christmas joy style of musicality. A memorable, warm track – loaded with good vibes, soul, and a dash of rock & roll.
Hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and endless hours in the studio are no doubt the unsung marks on Ms. Marie’s resume. The soul is apparent, the sound is impeccable, and Yona Marie is a master at the helm.
Felicia DeRosa has an awesomely refreshing sound right now, the summer vibes are stronger than ever, and as an artist – her fusion of pop, reggae, rock & soul feels beautifully on point.
As a partner for the song, this is powerful, and notably unlike a lot of modern day videos you tend to stumble upon. Humans are interesting, and unique – we shouldn’t hide that. Realness is ultimately so valuable, as is art that embraces it.
Relationships are rarely all smiles & selfies, as is often portrayed. Morris’ sense of realism is refreshing & that empowering element runs deep. The song builds slowly but surely, and it’s totally satisfying in the process.
The originality & undeniable soul of Msaki’s music is an absolute joy to stumble upon & to turn back to again & again when the chaos of the world gets a little too much.
The industry is right behind those acts that dress in dungarees with moustaches howling down the mic, which is great but I feel like we’re not introducing anything new. Time for a greek guitar slinger to stand & sing about KFC & Uber, don’t ya think 😉
The song has a simple composition. It uses electric guitar, bass & drums in a solid combination that promises you a good time, and delivers. The bass links the play of the drums & the grungy electric guitar with a liquid warmth that is also reminiscent of a quality found in Fitzgerald’s voice.
These songs that make up the collection are beautifully well produced & also hit in the way that any superb & memorable song should. There’s plenty more to appreciate on top of this as the project plays out.
Great vibes a-plenty from The Fell Swoop this rainy Sunday. Straight from the soulful swagger of San Francisco, the band offer classic funk & soul with an added flicker of pop-songwriting; fit to fill the boots of any of history’s funkiest live bands.
It’s always commendable when artists put in the consistent effort & attentiveness to complete a full length project like this. There’s so much more to relate to & to get lost within on an album, as opposed to a shorter EP or single.
