No-one breaks down the limiting walls of genre and expectation with more ferocity and style than HOLYMAMI. This summer the eclectic and unpredictable artist launches a five-track EP of originals, and the intriguingly titled TRAP THERESA is every bit as artistically uninhibited and creatively free as fans have come to hope for.

Indie rock of anthemic highs and conceptual lows, darkness and upbeat optimism carefully combined. Dumpster Fire is Beldon Haigh’s latest poignant re-release, following a video that racked up over a million views in two years, and it’s set to launch in unison with the band’s Rock Opera Premiere at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
Romantic uncertainty and upbeat, smooth RnB seem perfectly intertwined, as Canadian artist Sean Bertram asks What’s On Your Mind.
JOSH FR3DA holds nothing back with this album release – the opening song alone simply listing a series of poignant topical references. The very sentiment of being Openly Open is boldly explored, through an indie rock style both smooth and energised in equal parts.
Producer and pianist Craigology delivers a smooth to funky instrumental collection of tracks this summer, utilising a mellow, nostalgic keys tone and colourful backdrop, for the dreamy optimism of Just Imagine.
Old-school rap production, a smooth groove and lightly doubled vocals to reinforce short, mellow yet impassioned bars. Hollow Profit reflects on the gaping void between man and a higher power, with the nostalgic fluidity and character of MORTAL MEN.
Alternative rock with a twist of punk rebellion and pace – an indie project openly opposed to division and arising dictatorships. R.L. Wolf blends sarcasm, scorn and satisfying tuneful explosions, for the unapologetic God Bless The 1%.
Ambient evocative pop, vocals designed to feel personal but soulful – something building, rising, evolving; from intimate to celebratory. citrongrau and DASH 256 join forces, blending tones from the likes of Rihanna and Sia, only softer, for the mighty Love Won’t Fade.
Lyrically vulnerable, melodically uninhibited – almost freeform – musically dreamy for its organic, lightly reverb-washed guitar sound; Orlando songwriter and singer Linndsyeah reflects on interpersonal connections, with I’m Not Her.
The whole album is sensational, in my view. Interesting and engaging, with sublime vocals and performative diversity throughout. Easily one of the most impressively original and genuine projects of the year so far. Listen in full.
Beautiful production – stunning even. Classic euphoria in this finely connected downpour of synths, tones, keys, notes and rhythms. Nikhil Atkuri blends the passion of evocative chords and fragments, with the sheer intensity and comfort of a classic dance beat, for the intoxicating single Nightfall.
The song openly wonders whether good men are typically the rule or the exception, and while the hook resolves in a relatable, accessible way, the verses dive into a more poetic and intimate, personal story, letting the listener really build a connection and understanding with the artist behind them.
