There’s no denying that La Roboká have a sound that’s purely theirs. The opening track alone pours through with such a fine display of contrast – operatic vocals meet with retro synths and high-energy drum lines, all of which creates an almost sci-fi-like, cinematic explosion before you.

What Liebeskid does so well is build songs that are complete artistic expressions of certain ideas and feelings. The piano, the soundscape, the vocal tone and words, the melody – even the structure, the space, the stops and the starts – everything works as one to represent the underlying sentiments. Both of these songs are suggestive of an artist in a league of her own entirely.
Paul Wetz’ new release this week is a track that offers an immediately uplifting hit of escapism not unlike the work of The xx – though with a notably fuller, deep-house driven backdrop; and a refreshing concept and melody-line.
The entrepreneur works full-time managing his businesses, but as is the way of the muse – creativity struck one day, and the uplifting and infectious Get The Sun In Your Head was born.
My approach to creativity? I often go for a walk through Heidelberg, open my eyes, open my ears and just let my thoughts flow. At some point creativity kicks in. That gives me an idea. But then I need to play around with it – I prefer to do that on my own.
