Bruce Lee was a hero of mine growing up, I’ve probably seen Enter The Dragon more times than any other movie. He was ahead of his time, not just in terms of martial arts & being an Asian actor, but he was also a great philosopher. He was a maverick & made no apologies.

Go for it!!! We only live once & dreams are meant to be chased in this life. Believe in what you do & others will have no choice but to believe as well.
If it wasn’t for this creative outlet I would have lost my mind. I want people who are going thru things in their lives to take this project as an example of what persistence & never giving up your dream can lead to.
When I was writing the song, I was wishing so desperately that I could change the way my mind worked. I feel so often in my life that my thoughts are miles ahead of my actions & I’m just dazed in a mess of overthinking. That’s why I wanted to slow down.
To all my fellow indie artists, I say this – It will get better. Fall in love with the journey & devote yourself to a plan. Surround yourself with good people with good energy. Ignore all that does not support your vibe & intent. And I promise, you will maintain a better place in life.
I’ve learned to stop trying to be famous &instead d enjoy being an artist. My dream is to lose the day job & go on small-town tours, play in the evenings at the local VFW, then go off to the next town. I’d like to do that sooner rather than later.
For everything one can say about the current political climate, the fact that so many people are aware of what’s going on is a beautiful thing. We are all thinking, and we are thinking in the hope of progress.
Hone your personal sound around what feels the most true to you. Your surroundings, where you grew up, where you travel to, the places & people you reach out to for inspiration or enlightenment, the feelings you experience. All of these things shape who we are.
I have learned to take a “best of both worlds” approach to my music being that I’m both a Nigerian & an American. The traditional African rhythms are present with the modern afro-pop sounds, mixed with soul & other contemporary genres.
Fear is not very me. I’m like a positive tornado wrecking all the negative shit that’s out there. You could put me in front of an active nuclear bomb & I would dance & sing to it. Fuck that bomb, this is my moment.
The inspiration is different for every song. Most times it’s to cope or get closure on a traumatic event or season in my life. Other times, I write to capture a moment in time or describe a feeling.
