A mighty pop-rock album, a wonderful playlist that grows more and more enjoyable the further into it you get – and more so with each new listen afterwards.

Borderline Bob write & compose songs that are completely free from the confines of genre or industry expectations. At the same time, they offer skillful musicianship, passionate performances, and more than a few beautifully expressive ideas.
Surrendering is a huge track, a refreshing and hard-hitting, emotional rock release that paints a whole new picture of the band and what they’re about.
It’s a powerful playlist in itself, in all honesty. The louder you listen, the more immersive the experience becomes. It’s authentic, heartfelt music to escape to.
You can’t predict anything on this project, Callison’s songs follow their own rules entirely. He’s a performer, not merely a singer. A live show is not something you’ll want to miss out on.
This album moves from good to great the further you get into it – this latter half increases your belief in that significantly. The second time you listen to these songs they hit with a whole new level of impact.
The new collection from Irish trio The Rising titled ‘Moving On’ perfectly blends upbeat numbers and and heartfelt, emotive tracks to create what is easily a contender for album of the year.
This fleeting wave of high energy & the way the song screams on your behalf makes for the ultimate moment of escapism. The desire to disappear or get lost is well represented & well catered to within the track.
At only four tracks long there isn’t a great deal of time to express themselves within or to make an impact, but somehow they’ve managed both to an impressive degree. It all feels very natural & that lets it connect & entrance its audience.
Even having heard the project in full, there’s a lot left to the imagination – there are still many questions about the meanings of these songs & the feelings involved in the creative process; as was often the case with genuine grunge & alternative rock music.
This new release from The Striped Bananas is a re-working of their first album from back in 2012, with a few new additions. There’s perhaps a more raw, classic progressive rock feel to this one than last year’s project.
The rush of our routine connects to this concept of the rat race, not leaving ourselves free to consider the truth or to discuss ideas about the underlying point of existence. It’s a heavy topic, but they’re a heavy band & more than equipped to tackle it.
