Mainly instrumental, then, and a love letter to the employment of adding reverb to sound, this album represents huge trips of introspection and simple melodic and tonal exploration – marking it out as something of a one-off. The fact that it all kind of hangs together as one concept is surprising, but it definitely does.

Throughout, the sound is technically pristine and sculpted while the vocals remain very human. It’s glossy and gorgeous.
Red Alert is a Publick Safety Announcement, apparently. It’s a fun, frothy and retro sound that explodes out of the speakers and has a zesty kinetic video made to accompany it.
This is extremely accomplished – full of 90s nostalgia, joie de vivre, a terrific sing-along melody in the chorus and tasty, funky keyboard chops layered on top. It snakes into your headspace and stays there, probably mooning you as it arrives.
Fresh, raw, uncompromising, honest, intelligent and focused, Knocks really delivers. It’s a visceral, entertaining delight, packaged with a whip-smart video and attitude in spades.
The production is superb & the result is a gorgeously nostalgic offering that comes soaked in a certain artistic freshness. A beautiful piece of music with some stunning vocals.
