Sitting down to create is when ideas flow for me. It’s a bit like painting. You have to layer the sounds in carefully so they balance.

The thing about being a musician is that there’s a unique way to communicate my mood to my band mates through colors & chords, like a special language.
My earlier albums each had a story or theme. A river, a planet, a person, someone who inspired me. Four was total improvisation, a stream of consciousness.
The world has little to do with matters of the heart. It’s nothing but circumstance, and circumstance is a catalyst for choice. We always have a choice.
