Book of Shame’s most recent release Compatibility is like an unforgettable LSD trip through time and space, that’s as lucid as it is alluringly ambiguous.

This new release from The Striped Bananas is a re-working of their first album from back in 2012, with a few new additions. There’s perhaps a more raw, classic progressive rock feel to this one than last year’s project.
Eclecticism is defiantly a part of this project, but even so – you get a feel for the progression, the voices, the style, the subject matter. The band have something that is their’s, and that’s exciting.
These poetic, reflective moments express a particular perspective that provokes thought. The accompanying music supports & enhances this sentiment superbly.
The leading vocal presents a sense of individuality & realness, the latter of which comes unexpectedly among what is a fairly psychedelic soundscape.
For the sheer creative energy, this is one to take on at full the volume. Cascading riffs, thoughtful lyrics – a stylishly expressive collection of songs.
The song takes advantage of the entire musical structure of songwriting, utilising each moment to imprint ideas & a certain mood onto those who hear it.
