Exploring themes of obsession and jealousy (and over far too quick, in my opinion), Mine feels modern and personal and would grace any angsty playlist going. The beautifully-recorded vocals and intricate backing track do a fabulous job of exploring how overwhelming obsession can feel. Love it. It’s a gloopy delight, with a magic vocal.

These days, it’s incredibly refreshing to hear a different kind of arrangement in the single format. And like a clockwork ballerina winding down to a stop, Malicious Monotony proves it is anything but. Well, it may be malicious, but it’s chock-full of imagination and interesting and brave choices.

Thamatic have crafted this one with careful attention to detail, and this shows on multiple levels throughout the release. Retro elements fuse with those that feel decidedly fresh and uplifting to offer a memorable and quite striking audio journey.

Released in honor of 2019’s Earth Day, Midas is a beautiful ode to a planet that holds so much wonder and magic. At the same time, it’s a mildly chaotic walk through a history of greed and pain – these conflicting concepts are represented cleverly, through lyrics and musical unpredictability alike. The soundscape feels partly hopeful, partly unsettling – skillful production lets these qualities rightfully walk hand in hand.
