An emotional yet still cinematic journey, into which the leading singer pours soulful poetry – weaving around you a beautifully ambient blanket of warmth. This is a personal favourite from Glorybots to date, and an easy song to escape within.
The members of Iron Core have an incredible talent to craft deceptively catchy rock tunes that, much like their inspirations, are just dripping with attitude and sex appeal, and are just a whole lot of fun.
The Live Sessions is music for music’s sake, and if mainstream culture has made you forget what that sounds like, Torelli and the Fuse are here to remind you.
Boo Cat is alternative, for sure – appealing for its edgy weirdness & the way the music & the voices do whatever the hell they need to. At the same time, the melody is undoubtedly something of an ear-worm – I’d be surprised if anyone could walk away not humming at least one line from the song.
Stylishly merging distorted guitar riffs and delicate, captivating vocals, Alexa Villa bursts onto the scene with character and power. Never Have I Ever is not only creatively refreshing and musically hard-hitting, it’s been written in a fascinating and skillful manner.
It’s a richness to have practiced all kinds of music, but still have your unique & recognizable own sound. There was definitely a change in my life at the age of 26. There’s something with that number.
Modern songwriting is not confined by industry rules or genre expectations, and that’s a liberating thing when fused with genuine passion and skillful musicianship – as is the case with this band.
A fascinating song, both in terms of the writing and the overall audio output. The lyrics are perhaps the last thing to take hold, but once they have you, they don’t let go until the end.
The opening vocals lay out a certain vibe, perhaps purely quirky or characterful, but the instrumentation that follows adds a partly retro partly modern minimalist rhythm and ambiance, and slowly but surely the whole thing starts to brighten up.
“It would be a good thing if just one bloke questioned why he was always being such a dick to his girlfriend and made an effort to change his behavior.”
A fascinating band who take story-telling to new heights. A sense of change or evolution continues throughout, leading you towards a latter half that’s close to brilliant in how compelling, interesting & musically immersive it becomes.
There seem to be an unlimited number of ways to experience the song, and in any case – you’re likely to notice and appreciate the depth of the musical ability and the sheer artistry of the whole journey.
