It’s a little like you’re meditating somewhere, surrounded by the noise & smoke of an industrial building site, having found your peace regardless but still unavoidably aware of the heaviness & tension nearby.
The very concept of a sacrament seems a strange one to connect with this gathering of tracks. Its intriguing & there’s undoubtedly something eerily appealing about it all – perhaps it’s the uncomfortable process of some sort of musical baptism or cleansing.
This music can have a profound & awakening effect on its audience, if they let it. There’s something mildly addictive about the way it makes you feel. It’s beautifully haunting, dark yet comforting – the perfect fusion of elements to intrigue & entertain a busy, modern-day mind.
There’s something incredibly cool about the composition & the performance. By the end of the experience, this arrangement of notes, this overall progression through the riffs & sections of the song, makes certain to linger in your mind for quite some time.
Rolands Cibulskis is an artist doing his own thing entirely, producing music that is unique, decidedly original, free-flowing, and quite striking.
Originally intended as the soundtrack to a film entitled Monad, which sadly never saw the light of day. Fortunately, IX saw the crime in keeping these tracks unreleased, and so – this unique & rather brilliant album was born.
The music feels distinctly expressive of certain human emotions, but it presents this in a notably electronic & industrial manner. The production is as free as can be, the audio encompasses you like some vast, unexplored desert.
A striking piece artistic as ever & cleverly entertaining in a new, incomparable way. This is nothing like Oxaï Roura’s previous releases, yet at the same time, it’s soaked in the very same creative freedom & other worldly levels of inspiration.
