In terms of genre, New Realms (that title is probably a clue!) is borrowing from all over the place. As well as the influences I’ve already mentioned, there is something of Ulrich Schnauss-era Engineers about the overall effect of the EP. It’s rich, imaginative, compelling and intriguing. It’s hard to imagine higher praise than this.

Infrared is everything the dance or trance fan could want – simple yet subtly recognisable details, a consistent sense of movement and energy, and a brilliantly skillful bit of craft-work that lets the whole thing rain down with an awakening vibrancy.
Easily one of the most alternative and experimental tracks to cross our path in recent months. harlequins enigma takes listeners through a multi-layered, complex and colourful tunnel of audio with this release, the steamy kitchen at hand being one overflowing with fragments of ideas and dashes of melody.
Certain parts of Europe hold some of the absolute best raves in the world. This track takes you there, if you want it to. At the same time, there’s a calming ambiance throughout the piece, meaning it can be just as soothing as it is energizing – depending on what you need from it.

A hypnotic, pulsing, rolling piano motif welcomes in the listener and then the rubber hits the road and we’re off! It’s a clever, classy and contemporary sound, with pristinely-captured vocals (as precise as you like) treated lovingly with compression, reverb and delay.
These days, it’s incredibly refreshing to hear a different kind of arrangement in the single format. And like a clockwork ballerina winding down to a stop, Malicious Monotony proves it is anything but. Well, it may be malicious, but it’s chock-full of imagination and interesting and brave choices.

Emerging under the appropriate title Exit Simulation II, the new project is of such a uniquely interesting and easy to enjoy nature, that you’re likely to find yourself lost in the midst of it as one united and whole experience – a rare and valuable quality for the contemporary album.
There are journeys within each of these compositions, and the details and pauses, the weight contrasted by the lightness, all adds to the experience – helping make this entire album no less than a dream to lose yourself within.
