Producer and artist EL Mo3 has taken a creatively free-flowing approach with this latest release, conceptually encapsulating the very nature of embracing sobriety – the intensity & high that can come from life, from music – by means of a chaotically colorful, multi-layered & decidedly alternative dance anthem that refuses to be ignored.

What sets the song apart from being viewed as an exercise in retro charm is the interesting choice of the samples and the snapping rhythm track. The choral sounds could have been curated for WOMAD by Peter Gabriel, and the fact that they don’t fit the chord progression super-snugly is a dissonant and spooky delight.
Eight original tracks designed with care, with clear emotion and professionalism combined. Breathe Me In as a complete project is a rewarding journey to embark upon – the perfect choice this summer but also offering a timeless quality with a notable lightness.
Instead of falling victim to genre or industry expectations, Brown has let his own inner desire to let go, to free himself of yesterday’s turmoil, guide the way with the release. You can hear a genuine breath of progression and peace as you turn the track up loud, and that feeling passes over perfectly well.
Tar-ris’s use of breath as a percussion element and bird sounds in the chorus, coupled with the piano loops, creates a cinematic undertone that ultimately adds to the overarching drama of the music.
The lyrical content is congruous to the title’s suggested themes, with mentions of the stars, the dark, and the sky. This is furthered by a driving, but atmospheric production featuring long reverbs to create a large sense of space, and orbiting delays that pan across the stereo field like comet tails across the night’s sky.
Fusing the addictive benefits of a rhythmic and upbeat soundscape, with a quickly engaging, emotional story-line and vocal, Tidal Wave is a simple dream of a pop track. The song utilizes poetry and metaphor to craft and build-up brilliantly towards and easily memorable hook.
Gauntlet may well be an introduction to Bonne Finken for many of us, but it’s likely to be far from the last we’ll hear of her. Well worth a listen at volume.
There are journeys within each of these compositions, and the details and pauses, the weight contrasted by the lightness, all adds to the experience – helping make this entire album no less than a dream to lose yourself within.
Michael Woroniecki’s latest release is a project that compiles a collection of heartfelt, emotionally loaded songs, often leading with conceptual thoughts and poetic reflections on life and personal turmoil.
I’m not entirely sure whether the lyric was a nod to Billy Taylor’s I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free. I really hope it was, I love the cross-pollination of genre present, and this reference would be the icing on the cake. The whole thing is undoubtedly a grower.
If you were setting out to write a banger, you’d be well advised to analyse this latest confection from Nikotene, which switches up dynamics all over the shop to retain interest, and litters the lyrics with smart contemporary references which delight and satisfy in equal measure.
