“From my onstage vantage point, it was a beautifully organized chaos that seemed to have no end in site, but Redman was down for every minute of it. It felt like one big happy family at the end of the night, and nothing but love resonated through the building.”

This may have been one of the only shows I’ve attended where it seemed as if everyone was completely glued to the stage at all times. The way she constructs On My Mind will blow your mind.
If you’re a fan of chilled out R&B vibes, this song might just be the one for you. Marvin Bloo’s single Oh Wow has evidently been written to accompany those late night sessions at the crib – it’s smooth, easy going, and works perfectly in that setting.
There isn’t just one aspect of this song that makes it great, what makes it exceptional is how everything comes together so cohesively, even down to the backing vocals.
There’s a clear love story being told within the lyrics, also portrayed well through Alex’s singing. The emotion in his voice is relatable. We’ve all been in a place where we’ve been thinking about that one person in the most chaotic or socially inappropriate of times.
Where to start? This song has all the aspects of something you’d blast in your car for hours. Dense story-telling, intense instrumentation, a catchy hook. When the vocalist is not performing, the music never sounds empty or deserted. A lot of releases don’t have that benefit.
Rhythmically, there was never a moment where I could figure out what was coming next. It was as if he was writing a stream of consciousness. Whatever he wanted to express, was expressed as soon as he felt it.
I won’t delve too deeply into the lyrical concept, but instead, how beautifully they convey their rendition through sound, feeling, and a textbook example of word painting.
Duality is a component of our every day existence. Vineyard Cries displays this inevitability in his hip hop/popesque single entitled, Wolf. During the opening seconds of this dualistic experience, there’s an automatic suspense that blankets you.
