Kings of the Earth - Landing on the Moon - Stereo Stickman

Kings of the Earth Landing on the Moon

-

Fusing a beautifully warm and nostalgic rock soundscape, mildly Oasis-like in progression but with an Americana twang and a punk-pop vocal arrangement, Kings Of The Earth are quick to impress with this single.

What appeals from the offset for its simplicity and musical prowess, later engages all the more so for its uniquely expressive story-line, and the way the band quite freely fuse a range of influences to ultimately land here; on the moon, with their own sound, their own style.

Songwriting is sadly where many bands fall short – the live sound is there, the musicianship improving over time, but what captures hearts from afar is a song with passion and just a little something new about it. Landing On The Moon is beautiful, a classic hit for sure – a driving rock ballad that ticks a lot of boxes. More than this though, you find yourself following every lyric along, building up the scenery in your own mind – the music proving to be the perfect accompaniment for that process. And in the same instance, the band’s leading vocalist delivers in such a genuine, accessible and likable way, balancing subtle personality with clear emotion, that you begin to build an even stronger connection with the whole sound – something that often takes a few tracks or even an album in most cases.

It’s safe to say I’m a fan, but you should be too. Think bands of the nineties but with a refreshing, thoughtful twist of modern writing and performance. I can’t wait to hear more.
